Delton Borden

LAKE HELEN, FL

Delton D. Borden, age 90, of Lake Helen, FL, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2024, after a brief illness, with his wife and daughter by his side. He was born in Greensburg, IN on May 3, 1934, to the late E. Earl Borden and Dorothy Boicourt Borden.

Mr. Borden lived most of his adult life in Columbus, IN raising his family with his wife Lorene. Over the years he was employed at Indiana Linen, Como Plastics, Cummins Engine Company and Seymour Manufacturing. After moving to Florida in 1986, he worked as a Corrections Officer at the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office for 15 years, until his retirement. He was a Free Mason and a member of the Elks.

Survivors include his wife of nearly 25 years, Martha Borden; his daughters Pamela (Raymond) Harden, Indianapolis, IN, Patricia (Helmut) Kundovic, Greensburg, IN, Judy (Terry) Jackson, Pomona Park, FL, Jean (John) Curatolo, Deltona, FL; his sons Steven Borden, Greensburg, IN, Del (Ellen) Borden, Ormond Beach, FL, Bud (Tami) Schulz, Norman, IN, and Bill (Shelli) Schulz, Bloomington, IN; and three step children, Karen (Jim) Melchionne, Deltona, FL, Julie Kohler, Altamonte Springs, FL. Peter Kohler, Deltona, FL,; 24 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Virginia Johnson and Waneta Hornberger, all of Greensburg, IN, a brother, Earl Borden of Rochester Hills, MI, a son Brian Borden of North Vernon, IN, and a granddaughter Angie Davis of Westport, IN.

A celebration of life will be held at 11am on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at Lake Helen Methodist Church, 111 W Delaware Ave, Lake Helen, FL. 32744.
