The National Merit Scholarship Corp. has announced more than 2,900 winners of National Merit Scholarships financed by U.S. colleges and universities.
The following students from Columbus have received National Merit Scholarship Awards:
- Manya A. Suresh, Columbus North High School, National Merit Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology Scholarshp, probable career field is bioinformatics.
- David M. Zhang, Columbus North High School, National Merit University of Southern California Scholarship, probable career field is economics.
These awards provide between $500 and $2,000 annually for up to four years of undergraduate study at the institution financing the scholarship. An additional group of scholars will be announced in July, bringing the total number of college-sponsored Merit Scholarship recipients to more than 3,600 in 2024.
