Bartholomew County

Kids Camp — 9 a.m. to noon, St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 719 Fifth St., Columbus. Get ready for your child or preteen to experience a high energy fun filled week at St. Peter’s Kids Camp. Camp will be open to 3 year olds through current 5th graders. All camp participants will receive a T-shirt.

Toddler Time — 9:15 to 9:45 a.m. and 10 to 10:30 a.m., Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St., Columbus. This relaxed program is a toddler-friendly introduction to storytime. Toddler time features books and activities geared toward children ages 18 months to 3 years old.

Columbus Board of Works — 10 a.m., City Hall, 123 Washington St., Columbus.

Journey — 10 a.m. to noon, The Landmark, 729 Washington St., Columbus. Turning Point is excited to offer an interactive, peer-to-peer support system created to guide teens through some of the difficulties of life. Free and open to all local youth. Preschool Storytime — 11 to 11:30 a.m., Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St., Columbus. Children ages 3-5 are invited to join us at the library for Preschool Storytime. These storytimes build the early literacy skills that promote school readiness through fun stories, songs, rhymes, and movement.

USDA Summer Food Service Program — Noon to 1 p.m., Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St., Columbus. Food must be eaten on site and folks are not permitted to leave with the meals. Meals are free for children 18 years of age and under. Adults over the age of 18 may purchase a meal for $4.70.

Free Bartholomew County Legal Aid Phone Clinic — Noon to 5:30 p.m. Individuals calling can expect to receive a brief phone consultation. Individuals seeking legal consultation must register by calling Legal Aid at 812-378-0358 between noon and 2 p.m. A volunteer attorney will return calls to registered individuals between 3 and 5:30 p.m.

Chair Yoga — 1 to 2 p.m., Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St., Columbus. Join us for a one-hour session with certified yoga and chair yoga instructor. These sessions are great for beginners and those who want to focus on gentle practice.

Beginning Again — 2 to 3:30 p.m., or 5:30 to 7 p.m., Our Hospice of South Central Indiana, 2626 17th St., Columbus. Beginning Again Group is for anyone who has lost a family member. In-person meetings with Zoom option also available. Contact hospice bereavement specialist David Dopson for more information on how to attend and preregister. Evening Star Quilt Guild — 5:30 to 7 p.m., Mill Race Center, 900 Lindsey St., Columbus. This month’s topic is “Making Bags and Totes and Understanding the Structure, Stabilizers and Hardware Used in Creating.” There will also be a Trunk Show of Marcy’s creations.

NAMI Peer-to-Peer — 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Columbus Recovery Café, 1412 Sycamore St., Columbus. NAMI Peer-to-Peer is a free and confidential recovery-focused course for adults with mental health conditions, led by peers with mental health conditions. A great resource that offers respect, understanding, encouragement and hope.

County Council — 6 p.m., Governmental Office Building, 440 Third St., Columbus.

Adult Craft Night — 6 to 7 p.m., Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St., Columbus. Join us to make a simple macrame plant hanger. No previous skills required. All supplies provided. Registration required.

Garden Fertility: Exploring Fertilizers — 7 p.m., Purdue Extension Office Annex Building, 783 S. Marr Road, Columbus. Speaker Cora Reinbolt is the Bartholomew County Purdue Extension Educator in Agriculture and Natural Resources. Attendees will learn how to make the most of your garden by utilizing fertilizers.
