Looking Back – June 11

2014

Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. was awarded $50,000 and Flat Rock-Hawcreek was awarded $18,053.50 from the state Department of Homeland Security to complete safety projects and purchase safety equipment. The money was awarded through the Secured School Safety Grant program.

1999

Columbus Regional Hospital held its annual Take Your Sons and Daughters to Work Day, where children of CRH employees had the chance to touch a human heart and lung, monitor their blood pressure and have their eyes scanned.

1974

Columbus resident Mrs. Joseph Foyst, 1973-74 State Chaplain for Alpha Lambda, was elected to the 1974-75 state parliament at the 32nd annual Indiana State Convention of Epsilon Sigma Alpha International Sorority at the Indianapolis Hilton Hotel. In addition, Mrs. John Hodel of Columbus was awarded the Distinguished Athenian as top educational director in the state.
