2014

The Columbus North High School boys golf team finished at 298 in the Providence Regional Championship, three strokes better than second-place Center Grove and five better than third-place Bloomington South. The top three teams received bids to the state tournament, held at The Legends in Franklin.

1999

The Columbus Human Rights Commission interviewed and filmed more than 40 residents about their experiences during the civil rights era of the 1950s and ’60s as part of its oral history project for future generations. The project was funded by Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp., the Arvin Foundation and the Irwin-Sweeney-Miller Foundation.

1974

The Hope Future Farmers of America chapter’s crops judging team placed in the red ribbon group in the state Crops Judging Contest held at the Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis. Members of the team were Jim Pence, John Baute, Don Sigman and Jeff Wallace.
