Delpha Louise Ballman, aged 87, a longtime resident of Columbus, passed from this life at 7:50 p.m. Thursday, June 13, 2024 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.

Delpha was born March 10, 1937, in Columbus, Indiana, the daughter of John Robert and Nadine Goens Cox. On September 29, 1962, she married Donald L. Ballman.

Survivors include her children, Terry (Ursula Cartwright) Johnson of Columbus, Jerry (Jessica) Johnson of Canonsburg, PA, Teresa Isgrigg, Lisa Sharp, both also of Columbus; grandchildren, Travis Lau, Racheal Elizabeth Cartwright, Robert Otto Cartwright, Kenneth Johnson, Andrew Isgrigg, Joseph Ballman, Vicki “Joshua” Johnson, Tammy Coon, Faith Cosby, James Fish; great-grandchildren, LilliAnn Coon, Hunter Johnson, Maddie Ward, Sora Coate, Dallen Cosby, Katy Lau, Nolan Cartwright and Charlotte Jack.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; brother, Robert “Pete” H. Cox and grandson, Nathan Isgrigg.

The funeral service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Pastor Tim Carter officiating. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service Monday at the funeral home. A live stream of the funeral service may be viewed Monday at 1:30 p.m.at barkesweaverglick.com.

Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
