COLUMBUS
James (Jim) E. Harrison, 81, went home to be with the Lord at 11:10 am, on June 18th, 2024. Jim was born on April 17th, 1943, in Glasgow, Kentucky. The son of Dora Mae (White) Baldwin. He became a resident of Bartholomew County in 1945.
Jim attended Columbus High School, where he graduated in 1961. He started working for Cummins in 1964 and after 32 years, he retired in 1996.
He married Sandra (Sandy) Sue Hornback on July 24th, 1965. During his life, Jim was blessed with 2 children Troy and Matt, 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Jim enjoyed tending to his yard and watching sports on TV. His biggest joy was being able to watch his children and grandchildren compete in their multiple sports competitions.
Jim is survived by his wife, Sandy, of 58 years. His son’s Troy (Jill Carnall) Harrison and Matt (Sonya) Harrison. His grandchildren, Whitney (Scott) Baker, Regan (Seth) Berry, Andrew Harrison, Cody (Abby Yount) Froedge and Skylar Harrison. His great grandchildren Stella and Max Baker, Carter and Auggie Berry and Briar Nasby. He is survived by a sister Kay Meyer and best friends Allen and Betty Thompson.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dora, a sister Vivian Childers and 3 brothers Don Harrison, Tony Baldwin and Ricky Baldwin.
Services were entrusted to Barkes, Weaver &Glick Funeral Home.
As per Jim’s wishes cremation will take place with no services to be held.
