A free local perinatal moms support group is open to pregnant and post-partum women.
The group is tailored for expectant mothers from the 20th week of pregnancy through the first year after birth. Sponsors said the group meets from 6:30-8 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at Family Service, Inc. 1531 13th Street, Suite 2540, Columbus.
Family Service, partnering with Columbus Regional Health, IMPACT, and Columbus Counseling Partners, said the meetings focus on a critical period for both the mother and her baby.
“The perinatal period is a significant phase in a person’s life that carries both joy and potential challenges, influencing not just the immediate health of the mother and baby but also their future health,” sponsors said in promoting the group. “The rollercoaster ride of life, where you’re either screaming with joy or holding on tight, all while trying to keep your lunch down!”
