COLUMBUS
Mr. Shawn Edward Holwadel, age 54, of Columbus, Indiana entered this life on March 4, 1970 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was the loving son of Bruce Edward and Judy Ann Craig Holwadel. He was raised in Cincinnati and graduated in 1988 from Western Hills High School.
Shawn was inducted into the United States Marine Corps in June 1988 and rose to the rate of Lance Corporal. He was discharged in June 1994 and returned home. He moved to Indiana in 2009 and had resided in Seymour and Columbus. He had worked at Toyota in Walesboro and for Coca Cola in Columbus in the warehouse. He was raised and baptized at Philipi Baptist Church in Cincinnati, Ohio. Shawn enjoyed fishing, camping, socializing, and making people laugh. Shawn died on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at 10:45 a.m. in Columbus, Indiana.
A LOVING FAMILY
Shawn will be missed by his loving parents, Bruce Edward and Judy Ann Craig Holwadel of Commiskey, Indiana; his son, Bruce Holwadel of Cincinnati, Ohio and his daughter, Ava Holwadel of Columbus, Indiana; his brothers, Todd Holwadel of Seymour, Indiana, Brendon Holwadel of Piqua, Ohio; his nieces and his nephews, Jacob, Casey, Abby, Lexy, Ryan; his grandmother, Martha J. Mitchell of Cheviot, Ohio; and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Earl Mitchell and Elmer Earl and Dorothy Rita Durbin Holwadel.
FUNERAL CEREMONY
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, October 25, 2024, at 1:00 p.m., by Pastor Billy Cloud at the Morgan &Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1415 North Gate Road in Madison, Indiana.
VISITATION
Friends may visit Friday, October 25, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Morgan &Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana.
MILITARY HONORS
A final salute with military honors will be provided by the Major Samuel Woodfill Post No. 9 of the American Legion.
