COLUMBUS, Ind. — Columbus firefighters and Centerpoint were sent to a gas line cut on the exterior of the NexusPark building on the southeast corner of the structure. The line break was fixed in about 15 minutes after being reported at 9 a.m., according to the fire department.
A crew working construction on the site is believed to have struck the line, said Capt. Mike Wilson, Columbus Fire Department spokesman. Centerpoint Energy had the line fixed quickly, Wilson said.
No evacuations were necessary as the leak was outside NexusPark and did not affect the interior, Wilson said. Firefighters monitored the interior of the structure during the leak.
