COLUMBUS
Clara G. Ballard, 85, of Columbus, passed from this life at 5:28 a.m. Saturday, November 16, 2024 at Siver Oaks Health Campus.
Clara was born August 2, 1939, in Adair County, Kentucky, the daughter of Dora McAnnelly. In 1959 she married Clyde W. Ballard.
Mrs. Ballard attended Northview Assembly of God Church. She enjoyed attending WWE wrestling matches, garage sales and farmers markets. Spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was one of her favorite things to do in her spare time. She will be remembered for her mischievous nature and Clara will be missed by those that knew and loved her.
Survivors include her children, Danny Ballard of Elizabethtown, Donny (Gail) Ballard, Ronnie (Tonda) Ballard, Tracy Ballard, all of Columbus; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Nelda Burnett and Rhonda Wilbur, both of Columbus.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clyde and daughter, Tammy Johnson.
The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Thursday at Barkes, Weaver &Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Gobel Brockman officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Springer Cemetery. The graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday. (Meet at the cemetery.)
