Columbus police have a new patrol officer who was sworn in Monday by Columbus Mayor Mary Ferdon.
Elijsha Munn (CPD 305) joins the department from Maryland.
After graduating from Great Mills High School, Munn studied criminal justice and started working with the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office as a correctional officer.
He then moved into the role of patrol deputy, where he became a field training officer and a member of the department’s emergency response team.
In the coming weeks, CPD said Munn will undergo training with CPD instructors, as well as training with the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy to transfer his police officer certification from Maryland to Indiana.
