The following Thanksgiving Day closings have been announced for Thursday, Nov. 28.
- Columbus City Hall and offices are closed Nov. 28 and Nov. 29.
- The Columbus City Utilities Office will be closed Nov. 28 and Nov. 29. Regular business hours will resume Monday, Dec. 2, 2024 at 7 a.m. If you have a problem with your water or sewer service, call the business office at 812-372-8861 and follow the prompts.
- The city Department of Public Works will not pick up its trash collection schedule for Nov. 28. All collections will be delayed one day with Thursday’s collections on Friday and Friday’s collections on Saturday. Please remember to have toters out by 7 a.m. The office will be closed Nov. 28 and Nov 29, and will reopen Dec. 2nd at 7 a.m. Visit www.columbus.in.gov/public-works for more information.
- All Bartholomew County Solid Waste Management locations are closed Nov. 28. On Friday, Nov. 29, the Columbus/Bartholomew Recycling Center and Solid Waste Management District Offices are closed. The Bartholomew County Landfill will be open Friday, Nov. 29 for regular hours, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Visit bcswmd.com for more information.
- The Republic will be closed on Nov. 28 to allow its employees to enjoy the holiday with their families. The office will reopen at 8 a.m. Nov. 29.
