COLUMBUS
Phyllis L. Beller, 77, of Columbus, lost her battle with cancer and heart disease at Columbus Regional Hospital on November 28th, 2024, the daughter of the late Catherine (Jean) and Marion (Mack) Pavey.
Phyllis was a 1965 graduate of Columbus High School. After graduation, she received her LPN certification and found a passion for helping others. This passion to serve led to a fulfilling career in nursing at Columbus Regional Hospital before working as a home health nurse in Columbus.
While her career was cut short due to a rare medical condition, Hypoparathyroidism, Phyllis never lost her zeal to help those around her. Her kindness and generosity are a direct result of a strong woman who held steadfast to her values and convictions.
Phyllis’s children were everything to her, and she poured her soul into raising them through many trials and tribulations. She was proud of the families Lori and Andy created, emulating her unconditional love.
In Columbus, a waffle house was once on the corner of 25th Street and National Road. Phyllis found numerous lifelong friends to walk through life with over endless hours, overdosing on some of the most robust coffee in the surrounding area. The irony behind that hallowed coffee location turning into the very CSV that providing her the lifesaving medication she so depended on is not lost on her family.
Phyllis was a proud member of a Tayler Swift Senior Swifty group on Social Media. Her caring spirit led to a genuine love for Taylor Swift’s music. Phyllis found passion in creating friendship bracelets and sharing them with other Swifties at a recent Swift event in Columbus. Phyllis never met a stranger, and all who met her instantly loved her.
Nearly a year before her passing, Phyllis was baptized by Jon Lucas and her son in her home. Her response to the salvation given by Jesus Christ and her dedication to God paved the way for her to enter the kingdom of heaven, where she is finally rejoicing without the lifetime of pain and suffering she so bravely endured.
The celebration of life will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 7th, 2024, at Church Of The Lakes in Nineveh, Indiana, with Pastor John Lucas officiating.

Survivors include Phyllis’s Brother, Steve (Cathy) Pavey of Columbus; Daughter, Lori (John) Sweet of Columbus; Son, Andrew (Krista) Beller of Brown County; Grandchildren, Tasha Harrison of Brown County, Arielle Meeks of Columbus, Alexandria Beller of Columbus, Brian Turner of Columbus, Krista (Danielle) Beller of Columbus, Ashley Ralston of Scipio, and Darrean Beller of Columbus; Great Grandchildren, Karma, Jasmine, and Malachi.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her sister Sharron King, sister Sherri Burch, and brother Carl Pavey.
Services were entrusted to the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.
