JEFFERSONVILLE — The Class 3A No. 2 Columbus East wrestlers went 5-0 in Saturday’s Jeffersonville Duals, beating East Central 49-18, Jennings County 63-13, 3A No. 1 Floyd Central 50-15, Jeffersonville 61-18 and Madison 48-24.
Ethan Poling (113 pounds), Talon Jessup (120), Gage Rutan (132), Caleb Cooper (150), Lincoln Cooper (157), Clayton Miller (165), Hank Redman (175) and Colin McMahon (190) all went 5-0 for the Olympians. Wyatt Behnke (126) went 4-1, and Caleb Kirkpatrick (144) and James Moss (215) each went 3-2.
Jennings County went 1-6 over two days. The Panthers fell to Floyd Central 52-18 and Madison 39-38 on Friday. Saturday, Jennings lost to Jeffersonville 35-33 and East before beating Providence 64-9 and falling to East Central 56-17 and Heritage Hills 50-19.
Lane Kirchner went 7-0 at 144 to lead the Panthers. Carter Mikels (106) went 6-1, while Luke Kirchner (132) and Gomie Gomez (215) each went 5-2.
