Snow, wind and cold temperatures moving into Bartholomew county this afternoon, evening

COLUMBUS, Ind. — Snow, strong winds, and cold temperatures are still expected to move into the Bartholomew County area this afternoon into the evening hours and stay through Thursday.

Numerous snow showers expected Wednesday afternoon and evening with the potential for snow squalls. Minor snow accumulations, ½ inch or less expected for most locations.

The National Weather Service is predicting reduced visibility with brief, heavy snowfall and strong wind gusts, up to 30 to 40 mph producing wind chill temps of 0 to -10.

There is a chance for snow Thursday afternoon with minor accumulation possible.

The snow is expected to arrive between 2 and 8 p.m. Wednesday, with strong winds predicted between 3 p.m. and midnight Thursday. Subzero wind chills are forecast Wednesday night into Thursday morning. Snow on Thursday is expected to arrive between 1 p.m. and 1 a.m. Friday.

COLUMBUS, Ind. — Bartholomew County Emergency Management says snow, strong winds, and cold temperatures will move into the area this afternoon into the evening hours with snow squalls possible.

Numerous snow showers expected this afternoon and evening with the potential for snow squalls. Minor snow accumulations, ½ inch or less expected. Reduced visibility with brief snowfall and strong wind gusts are expected. Strong 30 to 40 mph winds will produce wind chills from 0 to minus 10.

The snow is expected between 2 and 8 p.m. with the subzero temperatures arriving tonight into Thursday morning.

Reduced visibility for drivers is possible for the evening commute, along with the strong winds. Roads may become slick and hazardous.
