Cora I. Waterman

NASHVILLE

Cora I. Waterman, 87, passed peacefully from this life at 4:30 pm, Monday, December 9, 2024, with family by her side. Born on March 8, 1937, in Great Bend, Kansas, the daughter of William J. and Ida Rosaline Marie Tammen Nagel.

She married Donald W. Waterman on April 14, 1999; he preceded her in death February 19, 2006. Left to honor Cora are her devoted children, Karen (David Jr.) Redding of Nashville and Mark (Pam) Wint of Columbus. She was the proud grandmother to Anna Wint, Jon (Gayle) Wint, Elizabeth (Justin) Tucker, Daniel (Mackenzie) Wint, David (Lizzie) Redding, Will Redding, Kathrine Redding, Jack Redding; step-children D.J. (Laura) Waterman of SC and Paula (Doug) Wahlert of GA; her step-grandchildren, Abby Wahlert, Joe (Bailey) Wahlert, Jacob Waterman, and Hannah Waterman, and daughter-in-law, Kathy Wint Hoover of North Vernon, along with six great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.

She was a faithful member of St Peter’s Lutheran Church, serving as church secretary and a former secretary at Irwin Union Bank and Trust..

She had a deep love for traveling and adventure – taking many trips throughout 47 of our 50 states and all the provinces of Canada via R.V. She found great comfort in the companionship of her beloved cat, Gigi, and her loyal dog, Elvis. She enjoyed quiet moments watching birds, reading, and appreciating the beauty of nature.

Her greatest joy, however, came from her family. She especially treasured her time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, creating lasting memories by taking trips together, attending various sporting events and activities, and sharing laughter and love. Family gatherings were among her most cherished moments.

She will be remembered for her warm heart, adventurous spirit, and unwavering devotion to her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Jim Wint, brother Ted Nagel, and sisters Dora Daberkow and Nora Nagel. Cora’s memory remains a cherished treasure to all who knew her.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday at Barkes, Weaver &Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with the Rev. Mark Teike officiating.

Family and friends may gather for a time of visitation from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday and 9:00 a.m. to time of service Monday at the funeral home.

She will be laid to rest at the Garland Brook Mausoleum.
