Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Deputy Pat Bryant retired after more than two decades of involvement in Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE). DARE was initially funded by Arvin Industries and Cummins Inc., and evolved into a 17-week police-based program.

1999

Alicia Hitchcock of Elwood Staffing was named Employee of the Year at the Columbus corporate office and Susie Louden of the Seymour and North Vernon offices was named Manager of the Year.

1974

Norma Redleaf was named foreman of delivery and collection for the Columbus post office. Redleaf was the first female to be named to the position in Columbus.
