In preparation for the city-wide recycling pickup program, the city of Columbus began offering residents the choice of 96-, 64- or 48-gallon recycling toters. Some residents were daunted by the larger sized toters, and opted for the smaller, easily stored option.
1999
Columbus Parks and Recreation Department began offering a Super Sitters class at Donner Center. The class aimed to teach students how to be a good babysitter and basic first aid.
1974
Irwin Union Bank and Trust Company of Columbus began taking orders for gold bullion and coins for the first time in over 40 years. Gold ran at about $190 an ounce at the time.
