The spring sports sectional hosts were released at the latest IHSAA executive committee meeting.
For baseball, Columbus East will host a Class 4A that features Columbus North, Franklin, Whiteland and East Central. In Class A, Jac-Cen-Del will host a sectional that features Hauser, Trinity Lutheran, Crothersville, Milan, Oldenburg Academy, Shawe Memorial and Rising Sun.
The sectional winners will play a one game regional with the location to be determined following the sectional round.
For softball, Whiteland will host a Class 4A sectional that features East, North, Franklin and East Central. In Class A, Rising Sun will host a sectional that features Hauser, Trinity Lutheran, Crothersville, Milan, Oldenburg Academy, Shawe Memorial and Jac-Cen-Del.
The odd-numbered sectionals are regional hosts this year, which means the Whiteland Sectional and Rising Sun Sectional winners will be on the road for their regional matchups. The Class 4A semistate site for the southern half of the state is Center Grove, and the Class A semistate site is North Daviess.
Columbus North will host both the boys and girls track sectional this year. Qualifiers from that sectional will advance to the Bloomington North Regional.
The sectional and regional sites for girls tennis and boys golf remain unchanged from the previous year.
Girls basketball sectional pairings are next week
The girls basketball postseason sectional pairings is right around the corner. The draw will be at 5 p.m. Jan. 26 and will be livestreamed on ihsaatv.org

Boys wrestling tournament begins soon
The boys wrestling sectional is slated to begin on Feb. 1.
Columbus East and Columbus North will wrestle in the Jennings County Sectional. The top four placers in each weight class will feed into the Jeffersonville Regional on Feb. 8.
