Hauser senior softball player Haylin Campbell participated in a signing ceremony to play softball at Anderson University next year.
The ceremony was held Wednesday evening in the school’s auditorium.
Locals selected All-HHC
Jennings County junior Mollie Ernstes and sophomore Etta Young have been named to the All-Hoosier Hills Conference girls basketball first team.
Jennings senior Maddie McIntosh and Columbus East senior Kimberly Carothers and junior Kenzie Cheek are honorable mention selections.
Boys swimmers set for sectional
Sectional swimming gets under way tonight with Columbus East and Columbus North competing in the East Central Sectional prelims and Jennings County competing in the Floyd Central Sectional prelims.
The diving prelims at Floyd Central begin at 9 a.m. Saturday, with swimming and diving finals at 1 p.m. Diving at East Central starts at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, followed by swimming and diving finals at 1:30 p.m.
Crusaders to host ICSAA regional
Columbus Christian will host the Indiana Christian Schools Athletic Association South Regional basketball tournament this weekend.
Action gets underway Friday with the Christian Academy of Madison and I-Town Prep girls meeting in the semifinals at 5:30 p.m. The winner will play Columbus Christian for the title at 5:15 p.m. Saturday.
Two boys first-round games will take place Friday night, with Christian Academy of Madison meeting Community Christian at 7 p.m. and Columbus Christian facing I-Town Prep at 8:30 p.m. The Christian Academy-Community Christian winner will play Pleasant View Christian at 1 p.m. Saturday, followed by the Columbus Christian vs. I-Town Prep winner taking on Calvary Christian at 2:45 p.m. The boys title game is scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday.
Cougars to compete in semistate
The South Decatur girls basketball team will play in the first semifinal game of the Class A semistate round against Borden at 10 a.m. Saturday at Shelbyville. Anderson Preparatory and Northeast Dubois will meet in the second semifinal game at noon.
The winners of those games will play in the championship at 8 p.m. Saturday.
Boys basketball draws Sunday
The boys basketball sectional pairings draw will be at 6 p.m. Sunday and will be livestreamed at ihsaatv.org
Columbus East is host of a Class 4A sectional with Columbus North, Franklin, Whiteland and East Central. Milan is hosting a Class A sectional with Hauser, Trinity Lutheran, Crothersville, Jac-Cen-Del, Oldenburg Academy, Rising Sun and Shawe Memorial.
