Crusader boys, girls fall in NACA openers

DAYTON, Tenn. — The Columbus Christian boys and girls basketball teams both dropped their opening games Wednesday in invitational divisions of the National Association of Christian Athletes Tournament.

The Crusader boys fell to Cornerstone Christian Academy from Alabama 64-54. Elijah Fields led Columbus Christian with 14 points, while Adam Haines scored 13 and Heath Harrison added eight.

The Crusader girls lost to Rocket City (Alabama) 46-33. Eva Blair led the Crusaders with 12 points, while Katie Bond added eight.

Both teams are back in action Thursday against Southern Roads Conference rival Christian Academy of Madison. The boys will play at noon, and the girls will follow at 1:30 p.m. in Dayton, Tennessee.
