JENNINGS COUNTY — The Jennings Township Conservation Club will be conducting their annual bluebird box giveaway from 8 a.m. to noon March 15.
For more than 40 years, members of the club have built between 100 and 200 boxes annually, resulting in more than 5,000 bluebird houses built in total.
The club members have produced 125 bluebird houses for the giveaway, which will be conducted on a first-come, first-serve basis, with a limit of two boxes per household.
During the giveaway, specialty houses for martins, wrens, bluebirds, bees, butterflies and bats, made by club members, will be available for purchase.
The club is located at 2177 E. Burn Road, off Terry Road, northeast of Austin.
The club is a nonprofit organization and a freewill donation for the giveaway boxes is always appreciated. For information regarding this event contact 812-820-2573 or 812-680-1120.
