Hot Horns concert at St. Peter’s Lutheran postponed due to flooding

The Hot Horns concert originally scheduled for Sunday at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church was canceled due to recent flooding, according to music and worship specialist Lindsey Fugill.

This concert would have served as the conclusion to St. Peter’s Lutheran’s concert series for the year and was to feature the internationally recognized Hot Horns Brass Ensemble, with Fugill accompanying them on the organ for a couple of the songs. She said they are hoping to reschedule the concert for a later date.

“It was a shame to do it but it just wasn’t worth it,” Fugill said. “I mean, half of Columbus couldn’t get in with the westside being pretty much like flooded out and some of the brass ensemble members couldn’t make it either … one of them was in Bloomington and he said it would take him hours to get over here by going all the roundabout ways. Even if they had been able to make it and we had done it, I don’t think we would have gotten a very good attendance so we decided to postpone for a later date when more people can enjoy it.”
