Glenda Lea Applington

NORTH VERNON

Glenda Lea Applington, 61, of North Vernon, passed away at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, April 28, 2025, at her residence.

Born June 27, 1963, in Seymour, she was the daughter of George Franklin Ledbetter Sr. and Jacqueline (Lamunyon) Ledbetter. She married Clayton Applington on June 26, 2017, in Kokomo; he survives.

Glenda was a homemaker and housewife who enjoyed cooking, baking, and cleaning house. She was a member of the Elizabethtown Methodist Church.

Surviving with her husband, Clayton, are her son, Terry Douglas of Columbus; daughter, Terese (Emanuel Taylor) Douglas of Kokomo; brothers, Grover (Faye) Ledbetter of Reddington and Gordon (Trenda Brown) Ledbetter of North Vernon; sisters, Gloria Delph of Cauga, Gail (Troy) Eickleberry of North Vernon, Gwenda (Edward) Mead of Columbus, and Galene (William Bush) Nay of North Vernon; grandchildren, Tre (Kaylynn) Douglas of North Vernon, Xzavier (Elizabeth Meek) Douglas, Divinity Douglas, Zirena Douglas, Zirnitiy Douglas, and Alena Douglas, all of Columbus, Raven Douglas, Emanuel Taylor Jr., Elijah Taylor, Jae Quarius Taylor, Da’ryeis Taylor and Da’Marion Taylor, all of Kokomo; and great-grandchild, Luna Douglas of Columbus.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, George and Greg Ledbetter, and grandson, Terry Douglas.

In keeping with her and her family’s wishes, cremation is planned with a celebration of life to be held at a later date. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Dove-Sharp &Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home in honor of Glenda to the donor’s choice of organization.
