North Vernon woman arrested on multiple drug-related charges

NORTH VERNON — North Vernon police arrested a woman who had called for assistance after attempting to access her locked vehicle.
At 4:27 a.m. Wednesday, police identified Heather LaMaster, 60, North Vernon, after she told them her dog had locked her out to the vehicle.
Officers noted suspicious behavior and detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A subsequent search uncovered multiple illegal substances, including methamphetamine, marijuana, hallucinogens, unprescribed pills, and drug paraphernalia.

LaMaster was taken into custody and transported to the Jennings County Jail. The vehicle was removed from the scene by a local towing company.

  • Maintaining a common nuisance
  • Legend drug violation
LaMaster was being held in the Jennings County Jail in lieu of $6,255 bond.
