Sandy L. White, 79, a resident of Columbus, Indiana, passed from this life, Monday, May 12, 2025, at the Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. Born on November 27, 1945, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to the late Frederick A. and Dorothy Craig White.

Sandy’s life was one marked by dedication and service, both to his family and community. He was a proud graduate of Franklin Community High School in 1964 and went on to further his education at Ball State University, where he graduated in 1970. His commitment to education did not stop there; he achieved a Master’s in School and Public Health from Eastern Kentucky University, which underscored his passion for health and fitness.

On August 17, 1968, Sandy married the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Deborah A. Cravens, and together they built a life filled with joy, laughter, and unwavering support for one another. Deborah, wife of 56 years, survives him, as do their two children, Leanne (Grayson) Conner of Columbus and Bradley (Lori) White of Fishers. Sandy has three grandchildren, Kaelyn and Jack White and Grace Conner.

Sandy is also survived by his sister, Roberta Cheek of Franklin, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Violet Atwood and Diana Payton and brothers-in-law, Wayne Cheek and Ray Payton.

Professionally, Sandy had a long and successful career in sales. He will be remembered as a man of integrity and good humor, always ready to lend a hand, share a word of encouragement, or offer a listening ear.

A family memorial service will be held at the Garland Brook Mausoleum Chapel; Pastor Robert Vester will officiate.

In memory of Sandy, memorial contributions may be made to the Westside Community Church.
