A day of remembrance: Fallen service members honored in annual ceremony at Bartholomew County Memorial for Veterans

Bartholomew County held its annual Memorial Day services at the Bartholomew County Courthouse on Monday.

Community members gathered at the Veterans Memorial on the courthouse lawn to honor those who have served their country.

Representatives of the Gold Star Mothers, the Daughters of the American Revolution local branches of Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and American Legion laid wreaths at the memorial.

Local funeral directors read names of each of the local military veterans who died in the past year, followed by a bell toll for each name.
