Hunter Pappano // Hauser senior golfer
Pappano won medalist honors with a 2-over 73 in Saturday’s Mid-Hoosier Conference Tournament at North Branch to lead the Jets to a runner-up team finish.
His performance last week: “I really enjoyed playing. I tried to pay more attention to having fun in my senior year and not having a lot of pressure.”
Do you do anything special to prepare? “I’ve just put in a lot of work and practiced a lot and been the best I can for me.”
Favorite drink: “White Gatorade”
Favorite food: “Steak”
Favorite class: “My Spanish III class.”
Favorite sports team: “Buffalo Bills”
Favorite athlete: “(Pro golfer) Scottie Scheffler”
Role model: “My dad (Jeremy Pappano).”
Best advice: “Just put your trust in God.”
Athletics goal: “I’m going to try to walk on at Eastern Kentucky.”
If you could travel anywhere: “Italy. That’s where my great grandpa is from, and they made a picture book from there, so I’d like to go visit that country.”

Baleigh Fish // Columbus East sophomore softball player
Baleigh Fish
Fish threw a three-hitter with 13 strikeouts and went 4 for 4 in an 11-4 win at Jeffersonville, struck out 15 in a 6-5 win against Bloomington South and went 2 for 4 with a double in a 7-6 win over Southport.
Her performance last week: “I was very proud of my performance. At one point, hitting could have been better, but I was very proud to get 15 strikeouts against such a good team.”
Do you do anything special to prepare? “A lot of times, I just kind of sit there and listed to some music, and when I’m pitching, I stand in the bullpen, make a little cross and pray that the game goes smoothly.”
Favorite drink: “Coke Zero”
Favorite food: “Chicken Alfredo. Pasta has always been a favorite.”
Favorite class: “Throughout sophomore, I’ve taken a biomedical sciences class, and I really enjoyed it, and that will help me with my career choice.”
Favorite sports team: “Florida Gators”
Favorite athlete: “(Former Roncalli and current Florida pitcher) Keagan Rothrock”
Role model: “My mom and dad (Tabitha and Adam Fish). Both of them have always been supportive with a lot of the decisions I’ve made in the years I’ve been playing softball.”
Best advice: “Go out there, be yourself and have fun and don’t let little things affect your performance. Be satisfied with your accomplishments.’’
Athletics goal: “I would really like to hit somewhere around 300 or 400 strikeouts in my career.”
If you could travel anywhere: “I really want to go to Hawaii. I have heard great things about Hawaii, and overall, it’s just such a beautiful place.”
