Terry L. Hensley

COLUMBUS

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Terry L. Hensley of Columbus. A cherished father, grandfather, brother and friend, who left us on May 25, 2025, at the age of 70.

Terry was born on October 27, 1954, in Greenfield, Indiana. He was the son of Henry “Bud” and Winifred Faye Trapp Hensley.

A proud Machinist at Cummins, Inc., Terry dedicated thirty years of his life to the manufacturing industry. He retired September 1, 2003.

He was not just a skilled worker but a passionate creator who loved “working on things.” Outside of work, Terry found joy in the simple pleasures of life−hunting, fishing, and spending time with his beloved grandchildren. He was an avid sports fan, proudly cheering for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Terry was the proud father of Tessa Hensley and Cristin (Darren) Henderson of Columbus, and he leaves behind a legacy through his grandchildren: Coleson Reynolds, Blayne Reynolds, Abigail Henderson, Layney Henderson, and Kensley Henderson; and sister, Rhonda (J.B.) Bennett of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Dale Hensley.

A graveside service will be held on May 30, 2025, at 10:00 AM, at Vernon Cemetery in Vernon, IN, where family and friends will come together to honor Terry’s life and the memories that will forever hold a special place in our hearts.

Memorials may be made to the American Kidney Foundation through Sawyer – Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service.
