COLUMBUS
Donald R. Consley, age 88, Columbus, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at Belmont Health and Rehabilitation in Columbus. Born June 11, 1936 in Milton, Kentucky, he was the son of William W. and Virgie (Williams) Consley.
Mr. Consley retired in 1995 as a line foreman for Arvin Industries in Columbus. He enjoyed his farm in Bedford, Kentucky, watching Westerns on TV, working on machinery, gardening and repairing clocks.
His surviving family includes four daughters: Donetta Jones and Julia Adkins and her husband, John, all of Columbus, Shirley Gates and her husband, Lester, of Hope, Indiana, and Connie Dickmeyer of Madison, Indiana; three sisters: Ruby Richmond of Milton, June Heath of Madison, and Janet Murphey of Edinburgh, Indiana; one brother, Vernon Consley of Bedford; one son-in-law, Eric Jensen of North Vernon, Indiana; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, the former Rachel Stockdale on May 16, 2022 and to whom he was married in 1953 in Milton; one daughter, Jennifer Jill Jensen on April 14, 2024; one brother, William Consley; and two sons-in-law, Thomas Dickmeyer and Ronald Jones.
The Reverend Monte Stetler will conduct funeral services at 11:00 AM Friday, June 6, 2025 at Ransdell Funeral Home, Bedford, with interment to follow in Pleasant View Cemetery, Milton.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Thursday, June 5, 2025 and from 9:00 AM until the time of services on Friday.
