Blair went 3 for 4 with two doubles and two RBIs in a 6-0 win against Jac-Cen-Del and threw five shutout innings and had a double and two RBIs in a 13-0 win over Rising Sun in the Jac-Cen-Del Sectional.
His performance last week: “It felt pretty good. Having Stryker behind the plate and everybody making great plays, it’s just a relief to have people like that. It helps us so much.”
Do you do anything special to prepare? “I get to the field early and hit a little bit and get my arm stretched and use my plyo balls and bands.”
Favorite drink: “Root Beer, no ice”

Role model: “My dad (Joey Blair)”
Best advice: “Just keep striving. Never get complacent. Just keep on and do better and work for your family and your teammates and thank God.”
Athletics goal: “Just keep on winning and have fun while I’m playing and go as far as we can.”
If you could travel anywhere: “I want to go to Hawaii because I’m Hawaiian, and it would be great to go there.”

Carsyn Schlehuser // Columbus East senior track athlete
Carsyn Schlehuser
Schlehuser finished second in the 100 meters and third in the 200 in the Bloomington North Regional to advance to Saturday’s Girls Track and Field State Finals in both events.
Her performance last week: “I’m super happy because I’m going to state in two event. I just pushed myself really hard. I’m really excited about it all.”
Do you do anything special to prepare? “I always try to eat really good. I normally have my air pods, but I can’t have in on the track in the regional, so I really get locked in and focused on my race, think about what I need to be doing and think about what my coaches have told me about how to run better.”
Favorite drink: “I just drink water.”
Favorite food: “I love sushi. I normally eat that on meet days.”
Favorite class: “I loved my C4 Dental Class. I’m going to (IU Indianapolis to) be a dental hygenist, and I got a ton of experience.”
Favorite sports team: “Indiana Pacers”
Favorite athlete: “(Olympic sprinter) Tara Davis-Woodhall”
Role model: “My mom (Julie Schlehuser)”
Best advice: “Work as a hard as you can and push yourself to the limit, and you’ll go as far as you can.’’
Athletics goal: “I really just want to try and beat as many girls as I can and make it to the finals (at state). I just want to give it my all because it is my last track meet for high school.”
If you could travel anywhere: “I feel like Egypt would be really good to see with the Pyramids and all the sculptures and everything.”
