The Columbus Firemen’s Cheer Fund is sponsoring its first ever Golf Outing on Thursday, July 17 at Otter Creek Golf Course. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Cheer Fund, a long-standing local tradition that provides holiday gifts and support to families in need throughout Bartholomew County.
Established in 1930, the Cheer Fund is the oldest charity in Bartholomew County and is dedicated to ensuring every child experiences the joy of the holiday season. Each year, the organization distributes toys, books, and other essential items to hundreds of families who might otherwise go without.
The golf outing will offer a full day of friendly competition, food, and community spirit.
Both morning and afternoon flights are being considered, with final tee times determined by registration numbers. Lunch will be provided for all participants.
Team registration is now open for groups of four. Space is limited, and participants are encouraged to sign up early to secure a spot. The registration deadline is June 30.
In addition to team sign-ups, sponsorship opportunities are available for businesses and organizations looking to support a meaningful cause while gaining community visibility.
“We’re incredibly grateful for the support of our presenting sponsor, Kenny Glass, and all of our community partners,” said event organizer Patrick Volland. “This outing is a great opportunity to come together and support local families who need it most.”
