Landmark Columbus Foundation, in partnership with Foundation For Youth and Columbus Youth Camp, is offering the 2025 Exhibit Columbus Design Camp. Campers at this speciality camp will learn new skills, collaborate with peers and discover how design shapes the world around them, according to the Landmark Columbus Foundation.
From Monday to June 20, third- to sixth-graders will have the chance to meet and work alongside Exhibit Columbus J. Irwin and Xenia S. Miller Prize recipients. They will also explore the world of design through hands-on and creative projects led by Exhibit Columbus curator Elizabeth Blasius of Preservation Futures, high school design student counselors and staff from Landmark Columbus Foundation.
Charlie Vinz of Adaptive Operations and Nina Cooke John of Studio Cooke John will lead campers in activities that will directly add to their Exhibit Columbus installations. During the Exhibit Columbus exhibition, campers will be able to view their contribution to the installations.
“This is an amazing opportunity to educate the Columbus youth about the wonder of design and the art of creation from highly respected architects and designers,” Operations and Communications Manager for Landmark Columbus Foundation Abigail Flout said in the release. “It is wonderful to partner with Foundation For Youth on this project so we can include as many youth as possible.”
Camp coordinator Robin Cain, who has been working with Exhibit Columbus for three years on the other camp, will provide overall guidance and counseling for this camp. The camp will be hosted at the Columbus Youth Camp.
The cost for the week-long camp is $175 per person with a $25 discount for siblings who also attend. Registration is open until today, through the Foundation For Youth. Scholarships are available from FFY.
