As part of its Care for Our Common Home Ministry, St. Bartholomew Catholic Church is sponsoring a presentation by Chris Fox, Land Stewardship Director for Sycamore Land Trust, at 7 p.m. July 8 in the Parish Hall.
Sycamore Land Trust preserves land, restores habitats and connects people to nature in southern Indiana. The trust now protects 11,727 acres with properties in Bartholomew, Brown and Monroe counties among others in southern Indiana, according to church committee member Suzie Shaw.
The presentation will focus on the work of the land trust, such as how they have restored donated farmland back into wetlands, Shaw said. She said attendees will learn of some of the environmental work happening in the local area.
“… a lot of people might not be aware of what they do and it’s really great for our community and this area to have someone like that, trying to make a difference and keep some of the natural habitat going,” Shaw said.
