EDINBURGH
Timothy L. “Tim” Burton, 56 of Edinburgh, Indiana passed away June 11, 2025 at his residence. He was born March 23, 1969 in Franklin, Indiana. He was the son of Woodrow “Woody” and Malinda (Long) Burton.
He is survived by his mother, life partner, Joyce Simpson of Edinburgh, Indiana, son, Nathaniel “Nate” (Carmen Gonzalez) Burton of Edinburgh, Indiana, step-daughter, Jessica (Scott) Purvis of Edinburgh, Indiana, grandchildren, Kaidin Purvis, Kennedy Purvis, and Amani Faith Simpson, sister, Tammy (Danny) Burton of Edinburgh, Indiana, nieces, Tessa (Christopher) Lindsey of Edinburgh, Indiana and Teah (Derrick Coleman) Burton of Taylorsville, Indiana, 3 great-nieces, and 1 great-nephew.
He was preceded in death by his father, step-son, Coy Matthew Simpson, and his dog, Precious.
Tim was a 1987 graduate of Edinburgh High School. He attended Edinburgh Methodist Church. He cherished his family and friends. He enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, and playing Snooker with his friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be conducted by Pastor Jason Hyer at 2:00 PM on Monday, June 23, 2025 at Edinburgh Methodist Church. Calling will be from 11:00 AM on Monday until time of service. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
Memorial contributions may be made to a Humane Society in his memory.
