Fourteen members of the Hoosier Daddys Shooting Team, including six from the Columbus area, were practicing at the Hoosier Hills Rifle and Pistol Club near Gnaw Bone for the second annual Scholastic Pistol Program State Championship.

Columbus’ Shannon Grimes was crowned as the 2000 Bartholomew County 4-H Fair Queen, with first runner-up being Kari Romine. Rebecca Downey earned the title of Miss Congeniality.
1975
Eugene Eckrote of Huntington was named the new Bartholomew County Extension Coordinator, replacing Harold Eubank, who resigned on June 15. Eckrote was previously the Huntington County extension coordinator.
