Columbus North High School graduate and Notre Dame recruit Ali Patberg was called up to the 12-player USA Basketball Under-19 national team that was set to play in the FIBA U19 World Championship from July 18 to 26 in Checkhov, Russia.

2000

Columbus Regional Hospital was one of 24 companies across Indiana to be recognized for their efforts in child care by the Department of Commerce. Lt. Gov. Joe Kernan presented the awards during a special ceremony at the Statehouse in Indianapolis.

1975

Pilot Pam Lock from New Zealand landed at the Bakalar Municipal Airport while on her way to Kokomo for the second annual Midwest Aerobatics Championship. Lock was vacationing in the U.S. for the summer and attending competitions across the country.
