Seven displays for the Bartholomew County Heritage Building’s debut at the 4-H Fair were secured after county locals pitched in with items from their collections. The displays included a 19th century bedroom, kitchen and sewing display, tool display and St. Louis Crossing post office display.
2000
The first annual skating contest was held at Jolie Crider Memorial Skate Park, where more than 60 skaters participated in the event. Only 10 competed in the skateboard event, but more than 50 competed in the in-line skating division.
1975
Cheryl Walls of Columbus was first runner-up in the Miss Madison Regatta Beauty Pageant in Madison. The pageant was held prior to the unlimited hydroplane race for the Indiana Governor’s Cup.
