Centra Foundation’s Pay It Forward campaign donates $2,000 to local nonprofits

Centra Credit Union recently donated to three nonprofits in Bartholomew County. The donations to Just Friends Adult Day Services, Lincoln Central Neighborhood Family Center and Love Chapel totaled $2,000 as a part of the Centra Foundation’s Pay It Forward campaign.

The campaign empowers Centra employees to participate in community service projects in groups that support local nonprofits, aligning with the organization’s philosophy of “people helping people.”

“It feels amazing to have the opportunity to give back to my community in a fun way,” said Centra team member Marques Johnson. “To be able to get involved and actually see how our support is making a positive impact on local nonprofits in real-time is inspiring.”

One Centra team also provided lunch for Habitat for Humanity workers and nurses at Our Hospice. Another Centra team worked with Firefly Children & Family Alliance to support a family in need in Columbus.

The campaign allows Centra and its team members an opportunity to give back to the communities where they live and work. In the second quarter of 2025, more than 125 Centra team members volunteered their time at local nonprofits and donated $10,000 to community organizations.

Due to Centra’s success in 2024, Centra Credit Union was able to allocate an additional $166,000 to the Centra Foundation. The foundation is providing $30,000 to 60 Centra teams to Pay It Forward.

“This Centra Foundation program is another testament to Centra’s dedication to creating value for the communities we serve,” said Centra director of community involvement Jenni Carr. “I love seeing our team members getting creative and finding new ways to give back and support these nonprofits that provide valuable services to those in need. It’s truly amazing.”
