Looking Back – July 9

2015

Two very old photos of a young woman and a young man were found in a desk at the old Dolly Madison Bakery before it was completely demolished, and local residents were curious as to who were in the photos. Faint handwriting and the name of the photographer, S.R. Cornish of Columbus, were found on the back.

2000

Cindy Looney and Danny “D.J.” Hupp exchanged vows and took each other’s hands in marriage during the Bartholomew County 4-H Fair Demolition Derby. The couple wore matching Dale Earnhardt T-shirts and caps.

1975

The two-day 1975 Mini Festival opened at The Commons, with performances from the Cincinnati Ballet Company and the Cincinnati Symphony Pops Orchestra. The Columbus Youth Orchestra also gave a performance of “Carnival of Animals.”
