The Indian Association of Columbus will be hosting Summer Fest at 5 p.m. July 19 at Mill Race Park.
This year’s free event will feature food vendors and trucks as well as games and activities for children and adults. Around 7 p.m., several performances of song and dance will take to Mill Race Park’s Amphitheater stage, according to Indian Association of Columbus Vice President Suman Suresh.
“This year we have planned about 13 performances,” Suresh said.
Suresh described Summer Fest as an opportunity for members of the Indian community to come out and show their talents. She said they usually see a good turnout of between 300 to 400 people.
“This event is open for everybody, it’s not just for the Indian community,” Suresh said. “If someone is interested to just get to know about a lot of Indian culture, performances and traditional dance forms, I think this is a perfect opportunity to get your family out here and spend a summer evening, enjoy these performances, as well also have some Indian food among the vendors…”
