The Bartholomew County Council Monday approved the appropriation of a $63,631 grant to Bartholomew County Youth Services. The grant will fund the salary and benefits for the program coordinator position at Youth Services.
The program coordinator oversees all day reporting in accordance with the Indiana Department of Child Services (DCS). Last year, Youth Services collected approximately $53,000 from DCS as part of a day reporting reimbursement program, said Director of Youth Services Mariah Lucas-Georges.
The grant has funded the position since 1997 and will not create any new programs or positions within Youth Services, but must be appropriated annually.
