Toyota Industrial Equipment donated a forklift to the Bartholomew County 4-H Fair, and fair officials named Fairgrounds Building No. 1 in the company’s honor. The forklift was the second machine Toyota had donated to the fair.
2000
A new class at Columbus East High School called Keystone, designed to help freshman transition from middle to high school, was unveiled for the new school year. The class taught students skills for success in high school and later in life.
1975
Marcia Gamble of Columbus was named the 1975 Aqua Queen at the annual Columbus Exchange Club and Park Department Water Show and Swim Meet. Denise Feeney was runner-up and Lisa Shymkus was second runner-up.
