The Bartholomew County Highway Department will close Whitehorse Road at about noon Tuesday (today) for road improvements and realignment. The road is expected to reopen at 3 p.m. Friday, weather permitting.
Whitehorse Road will close from Bellesville Pike in Brown County to Youth Camp Road, with only local traffic being allowed. The barricades will be staggered to allow for local traffic but no thru traffic will be allowed, as a large section of the roadway is being removed.
Highway workers ask that drivers do not remove or move “road closed” signs or barricades as doing so may result in other drivers being injured.
For residents north of 3931 S. Whitehorse Road to Youthcamp Road (including those on 170 South), you must use Youthcamp Road.
For residents south of 3969 S. Whitehorse Road to Bellesville Pike, you must use Bellesville Pike to get to your homes.
