Local volunteers packed and distributed more than 2,000 free backpacks filled with school supplies as part of the Bartholomew County Supply Assistance Program. United Way partnered with Sans Souci Inc. and 13 other county organizations to collect monetary and physical donations.

Children attending summer activities at Eastside Community Center were visited by the Zoomobile from the Indianapolis Zoo, which brought a chinchilla, bearded dragon and screech owl. Other activities included a magic show and fieldtrip to kidscommons.
1975
James Reed won the heavyweight class tractor pull at the Bartholomew County 4-H Fair with three pulls of 220 feet. Dave Smith was runner up, four inches shy of the final 220 feet.
