One of the plastic panels on the First Christian Church tower was blown out by heavy rain and winds, but was easily fixed with one of the replacement panels stored in the basement.

Columbus’ new flag was hoisted for the first time during a ceremony at the dedication of the POW-MIA Plaza. The flag featured a multicolored sunburst with a “C” in the center over the Columbus skyline.

Anne Tarry led the Donner Swim Club in the Cincinnati “A” National Swim Meet with third place finishes in the 50 and 100 freestyles. Both times were new Donner records.
