The new location of Jill’s Downtown Diner has been revealed to be at 3005 N. National Road, as announced on its Facebook page through a video Thursday afternoon.
“Since 2008, Jill and her family has offered a traditional diner experience with comfort, nostalgia and community,” Jill’s Downtown Diner wrote on their Facebook page Thursday. “We cannot wait to bring our designs to life and welcome you all back to a place that feels like home in our new location.”
Jill’s Downtown Diner has operated under different owners since 1952, originally opening as Davis Diner. It formerly was at 421 Seventh St. until the lease was not renewed in March of this year. Previous reporting says the landlord told owner Jill England that a business decision had been made to take things in a different direction.
The restaurant was given until the end of March to vacate the property. As reported in February of this year, England appeared confident that the diner would find another home.
The new location sits between Rural King and Disc Replay in what was a former Radio Shack. An opening date has not been determined at this time but will be posted to the restaurant’s Facebook page once a timeline is available.
