Columbus 8-year-old Keaton Stephenson and his parents, Lee and Sunny Stephenson, opened Keaton’s Closet for Kids at the City Farmers Market in the FairOaks Mall parking lot, where less fortunate children could get new and gently used clothes and shoes for free.
2000
Columbus North and East high schools held their weekly band camps before the start of the school year, with nearly 300 students in attendance. Both bands were set to perform at the city football matchup on Aug. 25 at North.
1975
A new exhibit titled “Selections from the Harrison Eiteljorg Collection of Western Art” opened at the Second Storey Gallery in the Columbus Visitors Center. Many art pieces included scenes of western landscapes and cowboys.
