NORTH VERNON, Ind. — Six men were arrested on drug-related charges on Monday after the Jennings County Sheriff’s Office obtained a search warrant for a residence on Cedar Knoll Drive in Country Squire Lakes.
Deputies located six men at the residence, which was occupied by Aaron Mason, 44, North Vernon, deputies said.
One of the men, Stanley Sawyer, attempted to flee but was apprehended by Sgt. Michael Watts. Deputies said Indiana Conservation Officer Zach Walker sent his K-9 partner Jaycee and located about 4.5 grams of crack cocaine that Sawyer allegedly threw into a wooded area while fleeing.
Deputies also found fentanyl packaged to sell, scales, packaging material and other items related to narcotics distribution as well as methamphetamine, marijuana and other drug paraphernalia.
K-9 Brock also located 3.5 grams of meth that was hidden under a bed, according to deputies.
The following individuals were arrested and are being held in the Jennings County Jail:
- Aaron Mason, 44, of North Vernon, Level 5 felony dealing in a narcotic drug; Level 6 felony possession of a narcotic drug; Level 6 felony possession of meth; Level 6 felony maintaining a common nuisance and misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia.
- Robert Pickett, 58, of North Vernon, for Level 6 felony possession of meth and Level 6 felony possession of a syringe.
- Stanely Sawyer, 51, of North Vernon, for Level 6 felony possession of cocaine; Level 6 felony obstruction of justice and misdemeanor visiting a common nuisance.
- Floyd Wayne Johnson Jr. , 59, North Vernon, for misdemeanor visiting a common nuisance.
- Kenneth McDonald, 47, North Vernon, for misdemeanor visiting a common nuisance.
- Xavier Garlinghouse, 25, no address listed, for misdemeanor visiting a common nuisance.
